Lions Club Of Bombay Gateway Comes Forward To Support Lockdown Affected People, Shared Charity Work Experience With Hello India News

Ms. Ushaben Shah Lions Club of (Bombay) and Chairman, Yusuf Gateway,Meheral Centre opens up on her experience and charity work amid lockdown with Hello India News Team.

Coronavirus is impacting on a vast number of people who are in need of basic necessities and need to boost immunity.

Awakening to the prevalent pandemic situation, Ms. Ushaben Shah, Lions Club of Gateway, (Bombay) informed Hello India News that they have surged forward and and made contributions towards the welfare of the citizens.No doubt several organisations and individuals are coming forward to provide a helping hand to the people.

Needless to stress the Lion’s Club of (Bombay) Gateway, has done various projects since the last four months- March to June 2020, and have worked hard amid the lockdown and did some worthwhile projects.

A meeting scheduled for March had to be cancelled due owing to the pandemic situation . However they’ve never sat idling

Whenever any appeal reached to their ears, they involved all the members to participate.

The Service projects were undertaken by them in April 2020- They gave donation of Rs.15,000 for food grains, through Yusuf Meheral Centre where Ushaben Shah is the chairman. In the same month donated Rs.10,000 to Nursing Minds Charitable Trust for Kavach and Grains for Adivasi Girls where their member Bharati Trivedi is President. For the Society of Vocational Research and Rehabilitation, contributed Rs 11,000 towards grocery kits for trainees.

Further in May – have away Rs 15, 000 to the light of Life Trust. The appeal reached through Mausam.

These projects are done for needy people financially affected due to Lockdown. In the month of June, the President of this Club received.a sum of Rs.One lakh from her very good friend, as per the donor’s wish and the president Shireen.

Moreover, they also donated Rs. 50,000 to Parsee General Hospital for PPE kits, Face Masks, Gloves, etc for the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and others and donated a sum of Rs.50,000 to Anjeze Charitable Trust for pediatric / childhood cancer patients of Tata Hospital. For our street children center Gunjan they have parted with Rs 35, 700 for 42 grocery kits for 40 children’s families, 2 for our helpers, and Rs 38, 400 for April to June quarter.

In all total worth, Rs 2,25,100 worth projects have been carried out by their Club.

They are thankful to members Sudhaben, Harsha Joshi, Smita Shah, Preeti Thadani for food project, and also Preeti for PPE kits, Bhakti, Mausam, Swati for Gunjan project and lastly to the President of this Club Shireen for Parsee and Tata Hospitals.This club being a ladies Club and these are the services they did in the last four months which merits mention..
