Rajesh Agarwal, District Governor, District 3054, talks to Hello India News reporter Anisha Nandan on his Coronavirus pandemic experience and Charity work amid lockdown.

District 3054, comprises 21 revenue districts of Rajasthan and 8 revenue districts of Gujarat,
the major concentration being the Rotary in Jaipur zone, Udaipur zone, Part of Western Rajasthan, Kutch, Northern Gujarat and Ahmadabad district. Total number of members in Rotary District 3054 are more than 6000 including 133 clubs.

While talking to Hello India News reporter Anisha Nandan over phone on his experience and Charity Work amid the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown says, that the epidemic of COVID-19 started showing up in his district in mid March. He expresses his gratitude to his Rotarian’s for working hard during this pandemic.

He said that he had received 25000$ international grant for the welfare of the people in his district during this pandemic. PPE kits and other medical necessities, masks, gloves and sanitizers were distributed by the Clubs under Rotary District 3054. They even organized many camps and spread awareness about COVID-19.

This Pandemic gave an opportunity to Mr Agarwal to get connected with his Rotarian’s. He got attached with his members and enhanced their enthusiasm to help people. He conducted 60 online meetings for training, motivational, learning sessions including many other interactive meetings.

Mr Agarwal said that his prime mission is to promote the Rotary policies and objectives in all the clubs and encourage them to strengthen their administration, organisation and to understand the rotary policy. He also mentioned that the clubs must be connected to the community to uplift underprivileged people.

He further elaborated that this Rotary is considered to be the largest Rotary in India and mentioned that out of 21 revenue districts 8 doesn’t have any Rotary Club. He is working to establish new clubs.

He added that there are 6 revenue District Headquarter and 70 locations have been identified to start new clubs to provide opportunities to Rotarian’s & Community of that town to align with Rotary International to grow the administration. He hopes to open at least 30-35 clubs by 2020-2021 to strengthen his district.

There are 6 charitable areas focused by Rotary 3054, to be worked on in the society and identify their needs for which the clubs are working for basic education and literacy, peace and conflict situations, medical camps for maternal and child health, water and sanitation, environment and implementing projects accordingly.

In the end Mr Agarwal says, “I’m a travel passionate person. I love to enhance my network and love meeting people and work for the people. So this is a great opportunity for me.”
